Leo Darke was once famous for being sacked as a scary actor from the York Dungeon in England. His thespian efforts were so chilling as he menaced the public in between hanging Dick Turpin and describing the drawing and quartering of Guy Fawkes that girls shrieked and indignant parents wrote furious letters… His subsequent dismissal was plastered all over the newspapers shortly after. “Is this the most terrifying man in Britain?” screamed one headline. Well, he may not really be all that scary in person, without the make-up and costume, but he certainly hopes his novels are. He is also the author of Mr. Nasty and Pandemonium.
